2 things about OSHA: they're as under staffed as most Kroger stores...............and if everybody did everything every way every time every OSHA standard demanded, NOTHING would get done. That's the truth.
Typical gov't bureaucracy, fkin up a good thing with too much red tape.
There are reasonable expectations of safety. Blocking fire exits due to over ordering of product is one of them. It took them 3 months one time to fix our saws. I started making calls to the union about our safe conditions being compromised.

I got my store fined between $1500-2000 for violations. There was a problem with carbon monoxide and people getting sick. Last straw was when a pregnant woman working at the bank inside the store fainted from it. OSHA investigated and found that the vent for the heating system was not working properly, our floor cleaning machine was giving off a lot of carbon monoxide (so we had to get a new one) and the store was not properly documenting the incidents of people getting sick.
It's super easy (at least in MI) you just go online and file a complaint. You can even do it anonymously. They will send an inspector.. So if you really think there are safety violations, report them.
