Disciplinary action for getting hurt?

So in the past year I've gotten hurt twice on the job, once dealing with skids and just recently with  full crates of milk both injuries were in my shoulder first time was given a drug test passed and everything but transferred from that store a few months later this recent injury they manager at the time said he wasn't going to give me the drug test, the actually store manager said since I have had two injurys with the same shoulder doing the "same thing" ( wasn't same thing at all) that I will more than likely be pulled out of that department and will have disciplanry action on me where I'm not allowed to lift anything above my head from now on.  Is this something they can do or should I be talking to a union rep about it?

Go get an attorney.  They don't charge you and you bet they will fight for some money lol!  They don't gopaid if youou don't get paid.  Do you have a doctor's note prohibiting you from lifting?  The manager can't really make that call, well he can but it's not right.  The manager should not be able to threaten you because of an injury.  Get an attorney.  Let the attorney talk to Kroger and the Union.  Should be fun!

In the "real world" of employment people file Workman's Comp claims and the company is scratching to cover their own butt.
So Kroger takes the opposite approach and is blaming the employee for an on the job injury? Geeze Louise!
Yeah, go get that one free consult with a labor or personal injury attorney.

sounds like you participated in "red zone lifting" which is dangerous.  Before proceeding with the lift of the item, you should have found another employee to help you "team lift"   I know hours have been cut, so there's a good chance you'll have to find someone from another department.  Don't go to meat shop though, they're a different union and will be quick to file a grievance against you.  If you're a produce worker, you'll probably have to find someone from grocery or deli to help you with the lift.
