Went to Kroger tonight to see if any of the Valentine's Day candy was on sale -- all I found were the flowers.
They've already taken down all the Valentine's and now have it set up for Easter. Within 48 hours of the end of Valentine's Day. Smooth. Gotta give them that.
I may have missed the St. Patrick's Day items since there were still boxes out stocking the 'holiday area' for Easter, but I saw a LOT more easter on the shelves than I would have seen SPD, so i'm not sure our local Kroger is going to be heavily supporting it. As it is they are going to have a dumpster full of dead flowers by Friday.
I imagine SPD will be mostly balloons and a few stickers.
Chocolate covered strawberries at a local Kroger were ridiculously priced--12 (may have been 16 but no more) strawberries for $16.99. I did a double take as I passed by the table and this was at about 9 pm on Valentine's Day with a table still full of these boxes. I don't know the average price of this item so I was surprised.
Oh yeah and that was the sale price!! 4 for $5.99, 6 for $8.99, 12 for $16.99 and people were buying them!!! We were slaughtered on Saturday with all those orders...... one of our co's said she'd never seen a store actually sell as many as we did, and we aren't even that big of a store.
Chocolate covered fruit is nasty. Fruit and chocolate do not go together.
That's just your opinion. Fruit and chocolate do go together or it wouldn't be sold together. Maybe you just don't like fresh fruit dipped in chocolate. Try some banana & chocolate ice cream. Coconut and chocolate go good together, but I guess coconut is a nut, not a fruit lol! Chocolate covered cherry candy?
