how do you go from full time status to part time when you were hired as a full time employee after 8 years I understand the 8 weeks of 40 hours but one strike and your out the president even gives you more than that
Who told you that you were part time again? That would be the person to ask. If you think something improper has been done, speak to your shop steward asap.
We don't get FT after so many hours. We have to sign bids and interview to get there. We are guaranteed 40 hours a week after that. Then, we can only voluntarily go back to PT.
Did you work less then 40 hours a week for several weeks in a role?At my store you have to do 40 hours every week to keep full time status if you work less then 40 hours
for several weeks straight they put you back on part time

They cannot reduce a full time person to part time unless that person says they want to go to part time. If they try to reduce your hours, fight it. If it means the part time people get fewer hours, so be it. That's not your problem.

Actually they can. We are a union heavy store. Meaning we do everything by the book and if some one doesn't the union gets called in right away. You are probably be useless or calling off, going home "sick" and pissing off you head meat clerk. my advice, show up, do your work, and go home

It depends on op's union contract. You can't really say what's happened in this situation, so there really wasn't any need to suggest the op was doing any of he things you mentioned.
One more thing, there is simply no way your store does everything thing by the book. People are people and it is Kroger.

Management here. Needs of the business, my friend----it's a blank check that pays for everything. You may have conveniently forgotten it, but you signed a document that basically binds you to any and all structured changes Kroger deems needed from you. Just have to deal with it, sorry.
