Why cant Kroger keep their promises?

Hello, I have been working at Kroger since August of 2015. I work at SW327. About 5 months ago I requested to be moved from Bakery to Deli in order to receive the 10 cent raise I was promised by my co-workers and management. This was taken care of immediately. After a month I asked why I hadn't received it. I was told it would be a couple months. Then about 13 weeks ago I asked to be moved to Grocery. They told me they would take care of it. Then about six weeks ago they told me that they didn't have hours in Grocery even though everyone in Grocery said otherwise due to people quitting and no new hires. They told me they would move me to produce. That still hasn't happened. They then said they needed to hire someone new in the Deli. They just hired someone a few weeks ago who has already been trained and is doing great. Yet they still claim they need someone to replace me. And the new person they hired is making 10 cents more than me and is getting about 10-12 hours more than me. I don't understand how a company manages to get away with this. I am currently applying HEB and have an interview Friday. If that doesn't work I will apply at just about every other place around my neighborhood. I only still work at Kroger because I need a paycheck. Once I have what I need Kroger is no longer of any use to me.

Anytime Kroger promises they will or won't do something, it's a lie.

Best part of the post is where you talk about interviews and applications. Just make sure you keep after it and not find yourself in the same dead end, dead ass place years down the road. It can happen like that.

Oh: as for the lying? That's everywhere now, and it's all management is good for. It's all about telling you want you want to hear so you'll get out of their faces, and when you come back, repeating the process until you either get mad and quit or they've used you as much as they need and fire you.

I've seen all of this many, many times.

I'm a deli clerk, and when I was trying to transfer to another store, it was the same thing, they said they had to replace me, etc.  Unfortunately, the deli is the hardest department to staff, due to the high turnover, which is due to no one wanting to work in the deli because it is hard physical work.  Basically the deli is most overworked understaffed department in the store.

The grass always looks greener on the other side.  Try working the Night Grocery shift and let us know if you still think the deli is the hardest.

Hard physical work? Nah.. More like too much crap to do, understaffed, and constant customers in your face.

Meat department checking in to contest the title. Seventy nine hours on the clock last week.

I work 80 hour weeks if needed but it's not necessary right now.  Maybe in a couple of months when a new store opens they will let people work 14 hour days until the Grand Opening hype subsides.

Well.  I am not going to argue with you.  But, more hours doesn't mean you are working hard.  Could it mean you aren't working fast enough?  Just kidding.  I completely understand that day crew people deal with a lot of customers and it is easy to get distracted and lose focus on work that needs to be done.  Deli, Seafood, Meat, Produce, Dairy and Frozen.

We are underscheduled in the grocery Department but most days I get my crew to hussle.  The old timers I have are too damn slow.  They use up all the hours but don't do enough work.  I often add shifts to pt coworkers that are not scheduled 40 hours.  On top of that, a few pt people on days are getting grocery hours but they don't do anything to benefit the grocery department.
