So I recently got a job at kroger. Haven't gotten a schedule or anything yet. Haven't even been to orientation. My issue is that I have a boyfriend who lives 2 hours away during the summer. He works mon-fri and has weekends off. Would I be able to request having every other weekend off, or to even only get Saturday's off?
I'm not too worried about getting a ton of hours because I have a good amount of money saved up from the job I worked during the school year. I'm just nervous they won't let me take some weekends or Saturday's off because I'm new. I really don't want my relationship to suffer because of this job.
Not even the senior employees typically get weekends off. You may want to try and find you an office job.
(but I'll tell ya a secret if you promise not to share----my bf and me would have secret rendesvous at in between stores. He would suck me off behind the chicken case at one place, and I would let him ride em cowboy me over the meat cutter counter at another. All approved by the YOONYUN!!!! of course)
I've been trying so hard to find a different job, but there really isn't anything I can find. I wouldn't need every weekend off or anything. Just like 2 a month or something. Plus, I have some vacations planned, and there's no way I'm going to miss the two weekend trips I'm going on because of Kroger.

It seems everyone has a reason to be off on weekends. Why not just say you can work the early shift 7 am till 12 pm? Then you will have the rest of the day and can say you worked the weekend.
