With the Associate Insight Survey right around the corner, has management at your store done anything to (blatantly) try and skew employee morale/perception of the Kroger Company? Out of no where and uncharacteristically kind of management at my store, it was announced and posted earlier this week that all weekend long, management would be grilling out behind the store for employees, so afternoon/evening shifts today got burgers (with all sorts of toppings) and hot dogs, plus chips and snacks, drinks and a couple kinds of pastries like cupcakes for dessert. The same will be done tomorrow. It's said that it's to show appreciation for everyone's hard work in taking care of the customer... uh huh, I'm sure it is, and it's just gotta be total coincidence that Monday marks the start of the survey.
Fatten everybody up and that's makes everything hunky dory, eh?
Sure. A little food and all is forgotten. Or so that's what I'm sure they'd like us to think.

I agree 100%! Management gets ridiculously over-the -top nice and appreciative. They have to know that we know it's a self-serving temporary stupid bribe. Yet, they act the same every year! They can't possibly think they're fooling us. Amusing us, but not fooling us!

does your store manager still talk her cell phone on the sales floor and come in late. I had to file an ethics point report so corporate would get in there and she could do her job. A few months later she was transferred 833. Good riddance you fat racist bitch

I work in 833, and you know, i've never really noticed her to be racist. I've heard other people in the past talk about that too but I'm not seeing it. 833 is in a small town, and we only have like a couple black employees in the whole store. Either she's hiding it very well, or people were seeing something that's not there. I'm not saying she's the perfect manager - there's a lot of shady things i've seen and heard about her. But i don't think racism was the motive, because she ended up being a bitch to a friend of mine who doesn't work there anymore (and she's black).
In our store they put up big posters with pictures from all the "fun" stuff they did for us throughout the year. As a little reminder of "see how nice we are" I guess.
