Lift our leaders new schedule beginning in august
Permalink

Any one heard about the new program where when a Co manager is on vacation, the store manager can chose s dept. Leader to act as that Co manager for the week? How can I as a union employee do the job of a non Union employee? If I wanted to be in management I would have gone through the store management program and become a Co  Manager, but I chose to be a dept. Leader only. Are they going to force us out of the union and make us salary so they can work us to death more than they do now??? Any one heard anything??

I can't imagine that working unless the department leaders go through management training.  They can't do that unless they leave the union.  If that's not the case, then what could they do?  Walk around all day and give away free stuff  to every customer who has the slightest complaint?

Im assuming its not technically against union rules because i doubt this has been an issue before. The way it is currently is that comanagement cannot do the job of hourly employees but nothing has ever been said about the other way around... Seems weird though. Id take em up on it though. Get paid more for less work that week lol.

You're not going to believe this.  They're having a woman, who's only worked for Kroger in the deli department for a month or so, act as a co-manager for the next two weeks.  If they're going to do that, why not just have some 16 year old bagger be co-manager? no

this is all well and good until someone gets hurt (a customer for instance) and the "co manager" doesn't handle it correctly and a lawsuit occurs.  Then what?
