pay stub

I just have a quick question. I worked from 1:15-5:15 on Thanksgiving, but on the pay stub for that week it says my holiday hours are only 1.75. Additionally, my paycheck was for 173.14, and my net was 124.54. I am a minor and I have no deductions, I've tried to do the math but can't figure out how I ended up paying almost $50 in taxes. Is this correct?

It may have to do with the union contract you're under. Even if you're not in the union, the same rules apply.

You should talk to the person that does payroll at your store. Ask that person to look into it for you. If you don't know who does payroll at your store, ask your department head, a member of management or heck, even another employee.

You should have two sections on your pay stub when you get paid for Holidays.  The 1st is "Holiday Pay" this is the hours you actually worked on that holiday.  The 2nd is "Legal Holiday" this is the pay you get for the holiday no matter if you worked that day or not.  Part-timers get paid for 4hrs and full-timers get 8 hours.  If your worked the holiday in question, you should have got paid 4 hours in both sections.  I would talk to your store HR or AA and have them look into it.  If you don't hear anything from them in a day or two, call corporate HR, they are quicker to help.
