Kroger will limit you on how you invest with kroger stock. You will only be able to purchase 20% kroger stock in your 401 plan, even though your right as an participate is to choose your way you want to invest, in which again is being denied also, merrill lynch is going to stop real time trading. They will give you the average price of that day. Sounds like merrill lynch needs to turn it over to e-trade,ameritrade or one of the other firms you can handle it. Tell me your thoughts on this and whom to contact to take back control of my retirement
personally, kroger should back off, merrill lynch is the investing firm and investing firm should educate people how to invest their money and not force investors to do something they do not want. Some how it about kroger wanting to reduce cost to its 401k plan for employees, it always is.
I got the same letter in the mail. What I would do (as a former stock market investor) is looking to move your 401K out of Kroger to another investment company such as Ameritrade, or another investment company. Then there would be no restrictions on how much stock in a particular company you could purchase.
