Courtesy clerks either get no raise (or, a pay raise adjustment if your state passes an increase in the minimum wage) or one raise. It varies by union contract.
I'm not a courtesy clerk, but I'm pretty certain that courtesy clerks either make $7.45 or $7.55 an hour at my store.
I'm a courtesy clerk and I make minimum wage and don't get a raise. My state's minimum wage is going up on January 1st so that's the only raise I'll get. :(
And then everyone wonders why some cc's don't dontheir duties above and beyond. We had one cc who felt it was their appointed duty to only work what they were being paid; for example, if they were being paid $7.00 an hour, they'd only do $7.00 worth of work. NEVER, EVER, above. Unfortunately for him, management didn't see it like that. You got $7.00 an hour, but you did twice as much work for that $7.00
Shortly after that cc found "better employment" elsewhere. (Got fired). Meh, the old management that canned him was a racist douchbag anyways
$8.50/hr (michigan minimum wage) no raises either, you're capped unless you change departments. just another contributing factor to the revolving door employment at kroger!

Just glanced at 876-1 contract to March 25. 2017:
CCs over 18 start at minimum wage. Get a 10 cent raise after 6 months and that is it.
CCs under 18 start at 15 cents lower and get the same dime raise after 6 months.
Do you know how the Wages and hours work for the Meat Contract?
Can a part timer get full time if they work so many 40 hours weeks. I am under the impression if they work 8 weeks of 40 hours, they get full time.
no who ever next on the list to reseve full time when a slot opens up gets full time thats how it works in my area anyway but the kicker
is if you do get full time that way theyll eteher 1 make you transpher or 2 find a reasion to fire you becouse there only supused to have so
many full timers
That is how I figured it worked here in Mi. I think they might be giving a new guy a free pass to full time. Took me 7 years and 12 interviews to get full time. I will be annoyed if he goes full time in 6 months.
$7.50 here, a quarter above the minimum wage. I've worked there for over a year.
We will never get any raises whatsoever, either. But tbh, cashiers aren't much better making $8.00, although I'm not sure how often they get raises. I know customer service people start at $9.50...
Over here Courtesy Clerks are paid initially at minimum wage $8.10 an hour, they get "raises" of 5 cents every 6 or so months. The Cashiers don't generally make more unless they've been here longer (they generally are so it looks like Cashiers make more than baggers).

Well, this is what happened. Guy trained for 3 months as a regular clerk. Then, he was transferred to the meat department contract. Within a month, he is now a full time meat clerk. He is a good worker so I will give him that. He still has to do the 6 years to get top pay unless he becomes a department manager.
The contract states 12 consecutive weeks at 36 hours average to get full time. They used the hours he worked before he was transferred to the meat department to calculate his status. I haven't heard of anyone transferring out yet. This has shady deal written all over it.
