Pallets shipped to the store

I love the way pallets are shipped all mixed up or put together poorly.

That's not too bad.  I would have unstacked the pallets before placing it in the cooler if there was enough space for two pallets.

My grocery pallets are a nightmare right now.  I had to pick up or restack pallets from the last 3 trucks.  One was a drink pallet that was in front of a half shipper on a full pallet.  There was a gap between the drink pallet and the shipper.  The drink pallet fell backwards into the gap.

I had a paper towel pallet with detergents stacked on the left side on top of everything.  I turned a corner and the pallet flipped on me.  A cooler wall held pallet and machine upright so I could unstack it..

On yesterdays truck, everything was stacked straight up and loosely wrapped.  Canned veggies straight up all the way to 6 feet doesn't work very well coming out of a low trailer with a steep ramp.  It was too late to come out of truck backwards by the time I realized the bad stack pattern.  I only had to pick up half the pallet fortunately.  Not to mention, I had two extra pallets from 2 different stores.  My store was the only one that was supposed to be on that trailer.  There were no other stops.

Dude this totally looks like a pallet I had a week ago. The first one was packed pretty normally. But the damn second one, totally was half coming off the back. I had to go back to my dept. to get some help with it. And ironically enough the chick that helped(having worked there longer), was just like you just have to move it this way and that. Shifting it all over the place. til stuff fell off and we were able to break it down into two additional pallets. But man I was thankful that she did the shifting and let stuff fall down. Knowing me if I did that, I'd probably have gotten written up in a heart beat, lol.

But yea, I'm totally with the person that said, they pack the pallets up like such a freaking hot mess. I swear the one I had to break down before Christmas was freaking stacked so high. It was freaking 2 times as tall as I am. Thankfully I have longer arms and we have plenty of step stools. Or no way in the world I would have been able to get to it properly. But the sheer fact is, that somebody pulled it off the truck and left it in the middle of the aisle for us to come and get it was just wrong on so many levels. Even the DH(dept. head) was like he hates being short too and having to shift stuff so that some of the bread doughs slid down for him to catch.

gotta wonder what's going on in their heads when they stack that crap. actually had a pallet come in that had pringles as the base and the rest was heavy water/juice. needless to say most of that stuff ended up in damage! my personal favorite is when they sandwich things loosely in the center of the pallet, and you pull a case out and 3 or 4 land squarely on the ground/on you. our night lead pulled a pallet out that was so crooked, we had to rest it against the wall just to unwrap the plastic. ahhhh, another night at kroger!

. . . what's going on in their heads when they stack that crap.

"Hurry!  Hurry!  Must hurry.  Every pallet build is on a computer timer; must hurry or be fired!"

It's a lot like Krogrr . . . just colder and more dangerous.
