We have been counseled on getting our scan time & items % up.... It is very frustrating when most of our produce is not marked or the code is wet and cant be scanned . I am at my wits end trying to improve my %
I experience the same problem and I'm sure most of us do. The best you can do is write down the code once you get a hold of it from someone. Or even take a picture of an undamaged one with your phone. I mean someone actually did that and it saved my butt once! it saves you if it does happen again. Really isn't much more to say about this, there should be a better system with accuracy on checking for unmarked and damaged barcode items rather than cashier time %.

I just transferred to a new store recently, and i've found that some cashiers here actually have a page with undamaged produce upc codes on them, if you wanted you could try something like that.
Otherwise, another method I've seen utilized at both stores I've work at is keeping the actual produce stickers stuck onto your register to scan later on.
In the meantime I consider it a good idea to memorize as many codes as you can.
