Gallagher once came in to our store but management would not allow him in the produce section for obvious reasons.

When my store had it's grand opening as the newest Market Place in the area we had that football player Archie Griffin come through and do autographs. But I think I was off that day and only read about it the paper.

Not Kroger.

But, when I was in high school, I worked in a restaurant.  Bruiser Brody the wrestler came in to eat with his wife and son.  Unfortunately, he was killed in a knife fight in Mexico a week later.

I have seen several "local celebrities" including a well-known meteorologist, local politicians, in my store.  They were very down to earth and friendly.

Not any phony "Hollyweird" 'celebrities' but I wouldn't expect to see any here............ I can't imagine they would want to shop at Kroger stores here in flyover country.   Too plebian for them.

Pat Day, the jockey, was in our store one time.  So was Maroon 5.  I also see the occasional local news person and sometimes the mayor.

Had Nick Jonas come in my store once last year when he was in town doing a movie I think?. Sadly I was off that day. Everyone I work with in the store was posting about it all over Facebook. They said he had a body guard with him and he wore a hat amd tried to hide his face. Pretty cool!

Me and the city mayor have bumped into each other once in a while, and we both just are like "hey, how are ya" friendly and nice like any other person, sometimes chatting for a few seconds. It's part of why I like my mayor, their down to earth and they get the job done. I usually do try to be respectful and call them by Mayor if I see them in a suit, but normally they tell me to call them by their name as they call me by mine. Had a few folks come through and they are pleasant to bag for. Even if some people annoy me at times, I enjoy my job. And the customers sometimes even ask me where I've been if they don't see me when I'm around or doing different hours. Its like my union rep says, "the grocery business is trying to change this into something it doesn't need to be. Back in my day, that was when it was real. And that still is true today. Good customer service, smiles, and a pleasant place to shop are part of the three keys to success in this business."
