i'm relatively new to this forum and i was just curious about how long the people here have been with kroger!
i've been working here since late july 2016, so i'm approaching my 8th month here. started off as a courtesy clerk and then got moved to night crew after about 5 months. i like my new department much better, even though it's a lot more work.
Actually not that long for me either. Was hired late Aug. of last year and should be 7.5 to 8 months or so for me too. Still in the bakery but some days really thinking about joining Clicklist. But I've been hearing that our DH isn't too open to transfers OUT of the dept. Just ones into it. So will likely have to talk to somebody above him when I really get fed up enough to switch things up.
Off and on since May of 2012. I started as a bagger and I've worked my way up to Freight Crew Lead. I was a Frieght Crew Zombie for a couple years before taking a promotion, going to a different company, then going to Frito Lay, worked for Safeway for a bit, and now back with Smith's (Kroger). I don't mind the job! As you know, throwing freight can be a workout. Been part of the forum for almost 2 years now!

You had an employee bbq yesterday? Thanks for telling the night crew...
I guess I'm the old geezer here; I've been with kroger since February of 1991. I've been courtesy clerk, checker, night checker, overnight drug GM stocker, camera bar clerk, Meat closer, Seafood closer, and am currently a Seafood lead. I think stocking is still my favorite work, nothing more satisfying than annihilating a full stock cart. :)

i agree entirely. there is nothing greater than finally seeing the bottom boards of a pallet after busting your hump!
Been with Kroger for 6 months working 2 to 3 days a week in file maintenance (some stocking & bagging). They hired me when I came for my interview. I work 60+ hours a week at my full time job, so all I wanted was a few days a week. It's been enjoyable for the most part. The work keeps you busy, which makes the nights go by faster. They pay me well enough because of my previous experience, which is nice. Plus, I don't have to run a register or U scan which is a bonus.
I have nothing really bad to say about my store or the company, as my experiences have been positive so far. Of course I only work part time & mostly over night, so I miss out on most of the politics.
