"We'll give you a raise if you'll come back!" They said.

Hey guys,

Attached is my resignation letter from back in October. I'll tell you this: NEVER be afraid to bail on them, no 2 week notice, if they treat you like garbage. You have more leverage than you think. I left without a notice, without a warning. Guess what? The company hired me right back and I'm currently a freight lead. Don't be afraid to show them that you're not going to let them walk on you. The pic shows how I did so, as professionally as possible. I don't put up with their BS, and you guys shouldn't either. Trust me. The hilarious thing is, I quit that job and am now with Smith's once again and making $16.01/hr. They always need good help, and if you're a hard worker, you have tons and tons of leverage, and honestly some power.

When you're down or if a boss has been a real jerk, I'm not saying you should do what I did. But it will make you feel better when you realize that you have the power to screw them over, and they are so desperate for good workers that they'll bring you back even if you burn them. Since I did this, they are more careful with how they treat me and it feels good. Sorry if that sounds a bit sadistic. Lol. This works best if you do it in a professional manner; don't storm out and throw a fit like a baby. That will make them never want to hire you again anyway. As you can see, I handled this situation in a businesslike manner and it threw them for a loop. At the end of the day, I won. Lol.

Sorry guys, just wanted to show you a little tidbit from my bad Kroger experiences and a bit of a "job hack," if you will. I hope you're all doing well!

-Josh

Nice!

Sometimes I feel like quitting but I just don't feel like getting another job and having to work my way back up to 40 hours full time again while I got bills to pay. Any advice?

 Thank you!

And hey, I definitely know the feeling. Trust me. Honestly, it seems to be a retail/grocery thing where people aren't given 40 hours on a regular basis. I'd suggest getting a job all lined up in another industry. Try industrial/factory work, or maybe parking lot cleaning (I drove a street sweeper for a bit). Every job I've had other than grocery gives me 40 hours as well as overtime, typically. I'd suggest putting together a killer resume. Even if you don't feel like the jobs you've had are anything special, it's very easy to make them sound amazing on paper. Companies like to see a good resume nowadays because the younger generation (my generation, I'm 21) doesn't usually have them. Feel free to PM me if you want any help with that!

If you've worked for Kroger for a while, a call center is also an option! Less stress if you're used to dealing with people face to face, because it's so much less irritating on the phone. For me, anyway. I hope this helps!

They know they don't want to lose you. They need the ones that'll work. I told Kroger I would turn in my notice to quit and they said they were wanting to move me up (give me a promotion), but it won't be right away. It would be 6 months from now. I'm not expecting that promotion. If things don't change, though,  I'm going to have to find a job that'll give me 35-40 hrs a week. I can't afford to work only 16-24 hours a week.

For sure, I feel you on that. It's mainly grocery jobs that don't offer 40 hours per week minimum, which is kind of crazy. Every other job I've been at, it was unheard of for somebody not to get 40 hours.
