I got called into work to close and got tuck with the mess again. It was suppose to be my Friday off, but others called off and I ended up working. Friday is truck day. Garbage hadn't been taken out all day, dishes and spoons hadn't been done, not enough rotisserie cooked, sides hadn't been freshened, and salads weren't freshened, truck wasn't brought back, and meat case wasn't full. This is getting to me DH and Store Managers need to write these people up for not doing their work, not being in their department while on the clock, and for calling in so much. I don't care how long you've worked there, if you can't do your job anymore, then you shouldn't be working there.
"I would come in, but I'm busy with (insert excuse/reason here) all day today, sorry!"
Once management and lead realize they can't just make you do the work of three people on your day off, they'll start cracking down on the absenteeism/laziness.

I am surprised people get called in. It never happens at my store.

What region of the country are you in?! I think I might need to transfer, LOL. I swear there are times I can barely go a whole week without being called in to cover for someone. I'm just thankful there are more folks having back to back vacation times and what not coming up. And even my DH and the manager over him are on vacation this week.
So I'm getting full time hours and not being hassled nearly as much. I'm just hoping I can get at least 6 weeks of full time hours, so I can at least be like I was nearly close to full-time. As I doubt I will see anything close to full-time hours after everybody gets back from vacay again. Ugh. :(
I get called in all the time. They supposedly don't have enough hours to give, but for 3 weeks in a row I have been scheduled 20 hours and actually worked 40. Not complaining about the 40 hours. That is what I want, but why not just schedule me for that? Some one else gets scheduled it then calls off work and I end up with it. Schedule those who keep calling ib less hours and schedule me the 40 hours.
