I have 2 jobs! I work at a Golf Course! Kroger doesn't give enough hours or enough recognition to those who work hard.
I agree. I am looking for a new job now. I wish Kroger allowed for more creativity in coming u with solutions to problems. We are just monkeys in a cage.
I work at Walmart. It is right down the road. My coworkers are awesome but the work sucks.
How does Kroger allow you to work for them and Wal-Mart. In my division it's not allowed.
Same here...was told it would be a "conflict of interest" and that they could fire me if they found out. Which is ironic considering they had a girl working as a cashier at both Kroger and Target, and she had special permission to do so for some reason.
I have two jobs. I work at Kroger Monday- Friday from 8-2 then at a daycare Monday-Friday from 3-7. I took the daycare job in hopes to quit Kroger, but they don't offer health insurance so I had to stay with Kroger. If it weren't for the insurance, I would've left two months ago when I started at the daycare.
I used to have a second job. Working part-time as a substitute secretary for the local school system, when I first started working with Kroger. But as luck would have it, on the days I would get called in to do the secretary thing, that is when Kroger would already have me scheduled. And as much as I told them, I couldn't work those hours and that my schedule was NOT for open availability, they kept not listening and opened my availability up even more. Til I figured I would just quit the other job.
Which I know is kind of silly as Kroger doesn't have much love for their employees for sure. But that other job rarely called me to fill in. And after a while they were getting kind of flaky themselves about jobs. So although I was getting like $14 bucks or so an hour. It just wasn't worth it with the games they were pulling. And at least appreciate Kroger's paying us every week.
Actually heard similar from a few of my other co-workers as well that have two jobs. They have one that pays more and they get full time there. But get paid either bi-weekly or something like that. And appreciate Kroger's weekly pay checks to help in the between time too.
I only have one job but i have thought about what i'd like to do to make some extra money. I just don't know how i'd find another job to work around my insane schedule.

I can only imagine how much trickier it would be with you being a dept. head too right? Definitely wouldn't be easy.
I don't have time to work anywhere else lol. Fulltime worker, student and mom to several. Plus only one car makes things difficult.
Ha, yea. Totally my situation I mean I was contemplating interviewing at the local Dry Cleaners as they had mentioned flexible hours and working with your schedule. And figured I could even get a discount on going in there to get my zipper replaced on my Kroger jacket so much too lol.
But yea, that was back when I was working 15 to 24 hours a week for one. And for two, just thinking about fussying with my DH all over again about having a second job if I were to have applied at the Cleaners. >_< Dude it was painful enough the first time, when I kept telling him I couldn't go help clean up and so forth at another store before we moved to our current one, cause I had to be on my other job once(my DH, is a bit dense about not getting his way or hearing what he wants to hear at times).
And with the way they have us all shuffled around now, so that I'm alternating closing shifts with another chick in our dept. I just would never have the time now for a second gig anyway. Most especially as my closing shift days are predominately 2p.m. to 10 p.m. or a 3 p.m.(all day long hours, I consider them) starting time. So heck, unless I was to work like a couple of hours each morning somewhere. There is no way, I could do a second gig realistically at all either.
