Why would anyone want to get fired?

I don't get why anyone would want to be fired. That would look horrible on your resume, especially if the job you apply for were to call the company that fired you. I would rather give my two weeks notice and quit, than get fired. This person that works in my department hates me so much that they call in every single time they are scheduled to work with me. They have to be wanting fired. Do they really want their reference to say "We let them go because they called in too many times or didn't show up for work"? Hate me! I don't care! Get over your personal feelings and don't let it affect your work. That's ridiculous!

That is stupid. But I say, if they want to be that childish then that is on them blowing their job and future prospects down the toilet. Keep being you and they will keep being them. Consequences and all at that.

sounds like they don't understand how the real world works. you have to work with people you don't like quite often. god knows if i could, i'd alienate myself from plenty of my co workers, but the world isn't tailor made to my interests. let them dig a giant hole for themselves, all the way to china. as bakerchick said, keep being you and they'll keep being them.

Kroger isn't going to fire them, that is obvious! This has been going on for months now and Kroger hasn't done anything about it. I will always continue to be me. I don't care if they like me or not. I'm not there to impress them. I'm there to do my job.

Kroger won't tell their reference anything all they can say is if they would rehire the person again.

If a potential employer called for a reference (at least in this state) they only can verify dates of employment and NOT reveal the reason why someone is terminated. They CAN ask if someone "is eligible for rehire." If the answer is no, then that is a red flag.

I still don't get it? If you give your notice to quit, work til that time, then leave, it looks a whole lot better than writing on your resume 'fired'.

They could just not put them on there. I got fired from Walmart yet still got hired in at Kroger because I didn't say I worked there.
