The new proposed contract is at the ufcw1996 website. While disappointed a union can't secure a new starting wage of $10 that nonunion Walmart has been at since February 2016, and no lump sum retro payment penalty paid to union members by Kroger for not having the new agreement in place on March 19 when the previous agreement expired, there are some nice wins like the return of spouse health coverage especially with whacko Trump and Republicans looking to demolish healthcare for working poor like us at Kroger, and new 1 buck extra night shift premium pay
As a department head, I'm only recieving a slight pay increase when this goes into effect and I'll gradually increase annually, much the same as I have been for the past three years since being promoted. Any assistant department heads who were at top rate full-time are totally screwed by this contract.
I also see no info regarding personal days, vacations, etc.
That sounds pretty bad and it doesn't give me much hope for our upcoming new contract. Disgraceful how a "leader in the grocery industry" and one that proclaims "our people are great" and "our people set us apart from the competition" won't even pay its employees a wage comparable to other grocery stores/supermarkets or heck, even fast food restaurants.
I know the pay for topouts in the new deal is not where we would like it and the only win is the new spouse health insurance when the Republicans give us the bonejob in the new health insurance. We really needed improvement in front end so we don't have to hire fog on mirror and exconvicts and even at 9 bucks we are below many quality retail and service companies. If topouts feel any better that 9 Bucks is that and not more so the spouse health insurance could come back. Also be glad the clicklisters are not getting more than they got in the new dealA
