Used to get 36, even 40 hours. Now next week I'm down to 32. I've only been here a couple months. Is this normal? So should I look forward to be cut down to 20 hours?!
Yep, you will get even less than 20 at times. For a long while I was riding the 15 to 24 hours train. Heck, the only time I've even seen 30 to 40 hours in the last several weeks cause more senior peeps in my dept. was on vacation. And now that the majority of them are back from their vacations I'm back down to 23 hours.
I've had to give my low rung part timer 12 hours done weeks due to cuts. Holiday weeks are they worst because they have to cut hours to afford holiday pay, screwing the departments in the process

Egad, 12 hours?! Yea, I guess I've been lucky to get 15 at the least. If I ever got down to 10 or 12 for sure I'd need a second job ASAP. Just the irony of it is, even if I get 15, they would schedule me enough off days so they can use me to cover for people that have called off. So therein, it's always been tricky for me to get a second gig even with as few hours as they give me. Kind of a funky cycle sometimes.
