I don't know about you, but I'd rather eat Kroger brand food than Great Value anything.

Meat service cases in the stores that have them.

Employees that actually acknowledge you.

Wal-mart pays better and is better staffed. Usually better quality of products as well. They also always have better equipment that are well maintained. Kroger stores are always in some form of disrepair.

There's a lot of BS at Kroger, but personally i see more holes on the shelves at walmart.

Walmart might be well staffed, but you'll see several people just walk by and not ask if you need help with anything. Of course when you actually do need someone, they're nowhere to be found.

I concur about never being able to find help when you need it. And yet, you can usually find a bunch of folks in groups just yacking away. I've also found how lippy some of Wal-mart's associates can be. I mean sure I've read the aisle signs and have done my best to recall the last place I found an item. But some are like "are you sure you are even looking in the right place? We just CAN'T be out(said in a tone of you are such a lazy lying sack of dog poop)".  All while not even bothering to page someone that might know where said thing is located. Or even offer to come and show you were it may have been moved to.

It's like don't worry or bother getting up, I need the cardio anyway walking all over the damn store cause it's all been re-arranged for the umpteenth time. Heaven forbid, I actually get help from a store associate to make my shopping experience easier.

Kroger produce is better quality.

Kroger has a surprisingly decent floral department.  Walmart has a single sad hidden cooler with wilted and moldy flowers in it.

Kroger shelves used to be better stocked, but now our shelves are increasingly full of holes.

Pay seems to be better across the board at Walmart.  Not sure how benefits compare.

I've actually had a lot of good experiences with Walmart associates. I just had to say "Excuse me, but..." and I normally get the help I ask for. Maybe I'm just lucky or it's my 6 years of retail experience but it's not hard to get help finding an item as long as you're nice and don't ask some little kid. Pick a person a little bit older and you'll probably have a decent experience too.

If the person you ask doesn't know go looking for someone else. I know it can be hard when you have social anxiety, for example, but one bad experience a bad trip does not make.

Oh it's been more than one experience. From older or younger associates. And it's not like I'm pestering people or interrupting their conversations deliberately. I even wait til they are finished before asking for assistance. But seriously, I've received some seriously snotty looks from some Walmart associates at times. Even been sniped to just go down whatever aisle it should be down there. Without even really looking at me.

Who needs help? Find your own godd*mn ****, they're working! They can't find it any better than you can in many places, just wander until you find it. I hate customers who ask me sh*t while im closing my department like i got sh*t to do lady eat sh*t and die! All the while having my fake smile and helping her in my fake upbeat gracious tone.
