"WHISTLE" wine ad
Permalink

Another obnoxious ad just started here a few days ago (this is a Louisville division store). It starts off with an extremely LOUD whistle of three notes. (Must have taken a long time to write that masterpiece of musical ingenuity!!!!  )  hmm.gif

Then, a much more quiet voice saying something about a brand of wine.  (Kroger is so darn obsessed with alcoholic beverages.........trying to out-do the local liquor stores, and/or turn the entire neighborhood into a bunch  of drunks?). Has anyone heard it?  Why do they have to have that stinking whistle so loud? It literally STARTLES me...  Another auditory GEM forced onto our eardrums by the infamous IN- STORE AUDIO NETWORK!!!!!

B-But, But...They go great with BURGERS! Perfect for grilling AND chilling. Who the **** serves WINE with burgers??? Does Kroger corporate think our customers idolize Michael Chiarello? Why stop there, Kroger? Recommend a wine that pairs well with s'mores. It's S'MORE SEASON!!!! After all.

Yep, haven't heard the wine one yet. But even though I love cherries. That damn ad is driving me nuts as well. Combine with the live music Thursdays. Sweet lordy.

 . . . and/or turn the entire neighborhood into a bunch of drunks . . .

Addicts make good, regular customers . . . plus, we alcoholic/pothead Krogrr associates are glad to have more folks to party with.

Coke obviously thought better of it.  The whistle ad is annoying.

And...Has anyone noticed that they've played A LOT of wine ads over the years, followed by a string of (at least they used to) break-up anthems and depressing songs...Almost as if to say, "Hey, we're here to comfort you through this hard time...Why not buy a bottle of wine and drink your troubles away, eh?" Plus, when you're depressed, you tend to eat more, so we'll sell you a few groceries at the same time! They want us all to be fat and drunk!
