Depends if your Drug/GM manager sucks or not. Could be smooth sailing, or all the blame/work getting dumped on you. And even if you have a good manager they might start slacking some if they see you working your ass off. They maybe a good teacher on how to do certain task, or they might show you once or barley explain something and expect you to know it like the back of your hand next time it needs to be done, for example movie returns.
If you're just starting out, I'll simply say this which is pretty standard for most departments, be organized, and clearly layout what work needs to be prioritized to members in your department, it should be routine for most workers but you gotta hold peoples hands sometimes. Honestly you basically herd the sheep around doing truck for the most part while the manager either works or screws around. Make sure holes and lows are getting done by everyone, back stock being worked etc. Some managers will do holes and lows for the whole department and some will leave it for each person to do their section. The manager usually is the one to swap out endcaps when the ad switches. Sometimes they may ask or tell you to do it.
Sometimes you have to take conference calls if the manager is off that day, or go to department head meetings, and run the department, like ad swaps when they're on vacation.
There's more stuff but I tried to keep it simple. If you're looking to move up then good luck, if not then get out cause drug sucks.
