The one's who are deliberately slow, especially when you are scanning as quickly as possible? You know that they are capable of catching on that you need to keep the line moving, but they feel that as a customer, they should be able to take as long as they want to even when there are other customers behind them waiting.
The one's who are having a conversation in line with the customer(s) behind them after unloading their cart?
i tend to get the bagger to unload their groceries, scan everything put it in the basket. Make sure to ask for kroger card first thing, and payment. If they are still lagging you cant really do anything else. If after they paid and they are still putting stuff away in their bag or something or talking, i just continue with the next customer. usually works.
If you've worked retail as long as I have you use little ways to fight back with stubborn, difficult to deal with individuals. You realize we get paid by the hour so it doesn't matter how much work we do on the clock. Not all of us are built for speed.I was built for repetition. Now with my disability I can say that this can also be considered discrimination on my behalf.
