Why do I put up with this place anymore?

Our front end is horribly understaffed. Its not an uncommon occurrence for four or five checklanes to be open and no baggers whatsoever. I am one of approximately 6 courtesy clerks in the whole store, and it is a marketplace store as well. Corporate decided now would be a great time eradicate the in-house HR position at our store when we need it now more than ever. There used to be plenty of CC's but most went off to college or have quit. All of the head clerks have been extremely short with all of the front end employees because of these shortages and I am tired of it. I am consistently scheduled 30 hours in a week and I am part time, and go to school during the day. I recently put in an availability request to start 30 minutes later so I have time to go home and put on my uniform after school and have a day off during the week and it was denied. I am beyond upset with the whole situation and the management at this store. They should realize that if they can't work around my schedule (it was very clear they were hiring a high school student with activities, homework, and classes during the day when I was hired about 8 months ago), they will soon lose one more CC. Will it have been worth it for them then to have denied my availability? I don't know if its even worth it for me to stay at this point. Anyone have any ideas about how to hassle management for less hours? The employee shortage should be their problem, not mine.

Judging by your username, I think it is safe to assume that you work for King Soopers. I do too.

Our front end is just as terrible. My store just hired 3 CCs but it is as though we still have no help because you can hardly schedule minors to do anything and often times, we still have no baggers when we need them. We need checkers but the store, and perhaps the company, do not hire checkers off of the street.

I'm still technically a part-time employee yet they still schedule me for 40 hours a week and then take off an hour or two to avoid giving be full-time benefits when the time comes. Not only that but they have changed my schedule multiple times after the Saturday deadline the store has and expect me to be okay with it.

Sometimes, I'm the only one who knows how to check, do service desk, and work the fuel station so I have to help everywhere and then the managers completely forget my breaks.

I loathe every day that I have to clock in.

Kroger values the dollar and their customers more than the value and loyalty of their employees.  They'd rather penny pinch and gift the ceo's another billion dollar bonus.  While the low end employees break even every month by utilizing a day here a day there of vacation.  Could care less if their employees are on food stamps and the wic program.  Could honestly care less about their employees and their loyalty.  Would rather find unethical ways of forcing employees maxed out on the pay scale to leave.  I highly suggest:  Leave and give your self a better life!  Don't stay in the crap hole of Kroger your entire life.  You will only end up feeling empty and soulless after about ten years.  No good comes out of Kroger!  Just the loss of your soul.

I recently, reluctantly transferred stores because I got tired of constant customer harassment.  It got so bad I refused to wear a name tag because it only pinned a name onto that dislike.  I tried my best to offer the virtues of kindness, honesty, love and passion.  Only to find that customers at my prior store are so over whelmed by the sin of greed, wealth, vanity and arrogance they do not offer any love.  Demons and sins run most of their lives and could care less about trampling over you to get what they want.  Only about 5% of customers gave me true love.  I can not recall how many times I got punished because I was not liked or treated so horribly.  After getting thrown under the buss for a not at fault customer incident with verbal punishment I transferred.  The store lost a valuable asset and from what I hear they haven't recovered from my loss.  I contributed a lot to my prior store and now they are kicking them selves.

I feel I might of taken it a step too far by filing about six ethical disagreements but I guess you could say I'm paying back the favor.
