Have I had a few customers want to speak to the manager to tell them what a helpful/friendly employee I am? Quite a few times. Actually a lady wanted to do so tonight, when I sliced her meat just so and recommended some turkey to her. Just standard job stuff to me. But I really appreciated her saying that. As I had heard previously how pissy another co-worker was with me, for doing something she TOLD me to do in the first place. But whatever. As long as the customer appreciates my efforts I'm all good.
Well, this must be my week. I mean, I get tipped a dollar yesterday, and now today while I was walking outside after my shift was over, I found a ****ing dollar on the ground!
I know it's just peanuts to you all, but this means something to me.
Some guy tipped me like $8 for making him a special deli sandwich once (some weird veggie-only avocados, peppers, etc.)
Cool. That beats the time during labor day, a guy tipped me $5 cause it was jam packed in the store and I was closing down the self checkout but I let him go through after he begged me, and he thanked me with a $5.
I got tipped $20.00 for bagging and carrying groceries out to a customers car. Our store ABSOLUTELY FORBIDS tips of ANY amount (they view tips as extra money that can be spent at the store, but I think if th he tip is handed to me, it's MORE IMPORTANT that it goes in MY pocket. And it does.
