I may have accidentally taken two photocopied coupons. I was checking the numbers (which were small print) but the customer was rushing me and being rude to me the whole time. Could I lose my job for this? They were $2 off coupons, if that matters.
Technically, if the coupon doesn't scan, don't override it and don't let anyone else override it on your numbers. If they want to override it, sign off and let them override it on their numbers. Its not worth losing your job over someone else's stupidity.
If you are a problem employee, they will fire you over whatever they think they can get away with. The union is toothless and indifferent, so this can be troublesome.
Couponers are subhuman filth. Put your foot down or else they will specifically target you for their shenanigans every time. Every single ****ing time. Try to specifically call for a sympathetic manager if it comes down to it.
Also, a lot of times customers will say, "they did it for me last time." When this happens, I tell them, "well, they weren't supposed to. I'm surprised they didn't get fired for it. I'm sorry, but I am not willing to lose my job so you can save a few cents." It is always always always hispanic women who do this and have a **** load of the same coupons for the same thing and they will buy 50 shampoos and 100 razors all of the same kind, usually drug gm merch and they will not only get it for free, but they will actually get money back. They do this and they sell it at flea markets like Traders Village. Don't let these scammers do this. In my district, loss prevention is investigating this at the flea markets because it is illegal to resale these items. That is why Kroger puts special stickers on a lot of drug gm merchandise. If you allow this, sooner or later you will be fired for it.
