I have a week of vacation left and I wanted to know if I could take to money for it and not actually go on vacation. Money is tight right now and having that extra would help out a lot.

It might depend on your contract. I was able to do that with one of my weeks. Under my contract as long as you take at least one week vacation you can work one of your other vacations

I'm not sure if you can just take the vacation pay, but I do know if you don't take your vacation by the end of the year you'll get the pay. Sometimes people aren't granted their vacations because of seniority, that is why they have this rule.
