Yeah, in fact the other day I was opening a box of plastic bags and I cut my index finger. Not deeply, but I did have to put hand sanitizer on it and then magyver up some paper towel cloth and tape for a quick bandaid.

Quite a few times. Once on my own box cutter doing truck. Had put it in my apron pocket and didn't realize the blade had slid out(which I never use unless cutting cake domes for 2 tier cakes in the bakery) when I went to reach for it again. Sliced a pretty nice surface cut along my middle finger. I was fine and was going to the office for a band aid, but my back up manager saw it and was all "hold your hand higher or above your heart. I gotta get the special bandages, etc. etc." I thought it was kind of funny as she was taking it like a state of emergency.

And another time on one of the meat slicers. I don't know if it was do to the blade having a nick in it or something. As the meat just was not laying flat and giving a smooth cut like it normally does. So dunce that I am, figured I would turn it around. Not realizing that the meat was a little closer to the blade than I realized and successfully nicked my finger through the glove. Didn't even realize it. Til I was done with the customer's order and was like "why is there blood in my glove?" So go and take it off, took off a little(very little, finger is still attached mind you) piece of the right side of my ring finger. Didn't even hurt til I actually washed my hands and the water got on it. And yes the slicer got sanitized during the time I was cleaning my finger and tracking down more band aids.

What is funny about that second incident though. Was that just a few days before I had the blade slide up under my fingernail on the same finger before too. Again didn't hurt, just nicked my nail or so I thought. As I wasn't bleeding. So I go home and clip the damaged nail. And then you see the little cut that was up under the nail.

And yea, even cut myself cutting one of the cake domes for someone's two tiered cake before as well.

So indeed it happens more than I would like it to.

yes. it's a matter of time before that happens, even if you're super careful. having to hold a box cutter all night certainly doesn't help those odds. sucks when you do it and there's no band aids anywhere to be found (our store really sucks bad with first aid kids) that's when i just yank one off the shelf and rip it open and leave the contents on the service desk. sorry but i'm not getting an infection from god knows what lurks at this store.

Every day! I' so use to it that I just grab a paper towel, run it under cold water, cover it up, and get back to work.

Yes, but usually it's just a "freak" accident. Like today, I actually cut my hand by brushing past the edge of one of those hard black plastic price tag holders as used in Produce dept, while cleaning. Those things are sharp and a bit dangerous. It's a wonder we haven't heard of customers cutting themselves on some Kroger signage, displays, plastic bag dispensers, merchandise stands etc. I can see sharp metal corners and such here and there, if you look carefully.

omg, tags are the worst. we have these stupid tags that jut out of the shelves that are bolted in, and they scrape the tops of my hands all the time. also the display tags that they hang on end caps have given me a good scrape. haven't had one draw blood yet, though.

I have only had it happen twice at work due to error, but honestly a little band aid and I was back in business. Are we as UCs even authorized to clean blood? As to me that's defined as HAZMAT in my book under bodily fluids, and therefore is a task for management to handle and respond to if we as Utility cannot handle it. Doesn't stop me from cleaning **** in the bathroom, but if I found visible blood in a stool, I'd call management and assess from there.
