I had a customer come up to me at 8:30pm asking if they can pickup their clicklist order. Two things immediately came up to my mind. Since I always see customers get their clicklist orders delivered to them while they're outside in their cars, I've never seen one pick it up in person in the store.
So I'm wondering, can they do that? Pick up their order in the store? And I also didn't know if the clicklist department was even open. And of course, there was no floor supervisor on the floor or a manager, so I didn't really know what to tell this guy. I'm assuming they close at 8pm.
So I just improvised and told him that ya gotta be in your car to pick up the order and that the clicklist department is closed right now so he's gonna have to come back tomorrow.
Clicklist has certain hours open for pickup. In my area, it's usually 8am-7pm time slots with final pick up by 8pm. After that, it rolls over to the next day's orders to be picked up. As for picking up in the store, we do that occasionally if the customer is shopping in the store already. We'll take the bags out to them, show the substitutions, etc. Doesn't happen often. Mostly with known customers. The department opens at 5am but you can't arrive before 8am. We've had people show up just before 7am because the email said the order was ready, even though it was way too early for pick up.
