For those of you on the front end who cannot (will not) understand the SIMPLE concept of LEAVING ME ALONE when I am working my Utility Clerk shift, here is a list of what I need to do:
1. Sweep the front end and cart area hose down if needed
2. Wipe front doors down and empty trash by said doors AND outside
3. Empty chdckstands trash and wipe down chdckstands.
4. Refill chdckstands with supplies as needed.
5. Sweep entire store. Then use floorsrubber if needed.
6. Empty ALL trash. Including dept trash and backroom trash.
7. Clean bathrooms as needed
8. Clean break room and bottle room area
9. Clean any spills customers make
10. Do safety paperwork
11. Keep inventory of all chemicals we use to clean
12. Make sure "The Pit" is clean (receiving area for our trucks)
I DO NOT have time to come up, gather carts, bag, etc. I have to do everything mentioned above BEFORE my shift ends. So where does FE THINK I have the time to drop what I am doing to come up front. I' about to just ignore their calls up front

I am a Utility Clerk and have been for 10 years. I was a Curtesy Clerk before at the old store.
1. Sweep the front end and cart area hose down if needed
(We do not use a hose in this area. It causes puddles and some of our customers are ignorant and will run over floor cones and ignore them.)
2. Wipe front doors down and empty trash by said doors AND outside
3. Empty chdckstands trash and wipe down chdckstands.
(This should be the night cashier job or the closing Utility Clerk.)
4. Refill chdckstands with supplies as needed.
(Oh boy try to get to the sink in our back room)
5. Sweep entire store. Then use floorsrubber if needed.
(We are not allowed to touch the scrubber)
6. Empty ALL trash. Including dept trash and backroom trash.
(Again night Utility Clerk)
7. Clean bathrooms as needed
(Never cleaned at night. I hose down every morning)
8. Clean break room and bottle room area
(Again night Utility Clerk)
9. Clean any spills customers make
10. Do safety paperwork
(I do this and also order supplies forgot toilet paper this week uh oh)
11. Keep inventory of all chemicals we use to clean
(Like I said. Try getting to sink in backroom to fill bottles)
12. Make sure "The Pit" is clean (receiving area for our trucks)
(Never can do this so many trucks coming and going. And under the trailers I am 45 years old. I am not crawling under them.)
The person that posted the above is the real Kroger's Little Bitch. Boy the things I could do if I had the admin powers to this forum. I am not worried about you. People like you started worrying be the day I was born.
OP here. Kiss my American Ass!! You'e probably one of the FE employees that call for bahhi my help every 5 min. Smh...cant even bag one item. Big widdle baby.
And it does NOT INCLUDE BAGGING!!!! (this from a Utility Clerk in the Southern Division.)
It absolutely does include bagging. If you are so sure it doesn't then tell your front end manager, and you store manager the next time they ask you to bag hat it's not, and see how that turns out. A utility clerk is a courtesy clerk with extra responsibilities.

Thats a lot to do. Sone changes on that list though.
cashiers need to refill their station and wipe it off. thats their area and cashiers are lazy as hell cause during downtime they just stand there in their phones.
dept. Should be responsible for the work own trash especially meat seafood. Just ignore the calls you hear about coming up.
Your duties are whatever the manager says and it can vary minute to minute. Happily managers are usually kept busy with bs work like trying to dig a hole in the river. If you try to get the union involved because the contract says something about this you will quickly discover that you work for a bunch of real a$$h0les. Just don't work for this company.
