I was working for Kroger about a month ago when I just stopped coming into work without giving notice or telling anyone because I made a stupid mistake and acted impulsively. about a week later I get a letter in the mail telling me I need to show up for a meeting if I want to keep my job. I get the letter on the day I'm supposed to have the meeting so I miss it and when I call them they tell me I am not eligible for rehire. is there any way I can overturn my ineligibility?
I doubt you can overturn the "Do Not Rehire" flag. It is corporate wide. Anyone who does hiring is supposed to check. It is possible that your name never got flagged with Do Not Rehire if the person you spoke with is a slacker.
If you or someone in your family knows someone in upper corporate management, they might be able to un flag you. They are able to make changes in our cao systems without leaving a trace.
You could try applying to another store where no one knows who you are and apply there. If the Hiring manager doesn't check it, then you might get rehired.
Other than that, stay in school and find a better job while you have a chance.
Good Luck.

Nope. He might get hired and work for a couple of months but eventually they will find out he is flagged. I've seen it happen.
I don't think you can overturn an ineligible for rehire easily. Im pretty positive being as it's district wide, if store manager decides to rehire anyways despite the flag, both management nd employee will be fired.
Any Store can overturn a "Not for rehire" coding as long as its does not have something to do with theft. But I ask the question, why would a store rehire someone that walked out/didn't show up for their job. Most rehires can say their were young/youth, but this former associate did this 1 month ago. I always said 1 and done, the people that I did tell them to rehire where people that had legit reasons to quit. I have seen a few associates get hired and then quit over and over again.......it isn't worth the time and effort.
