Can someone please explain exactly what is meant by the terms "PEYTON" and "SHELBYVILLE" when referring to trucks / shipments to Kroger departments??? Inquiring minds would like to know! I'm in the Louisville district.
Are there other terms (city names??) used in other divisions?
The Peyton order is all the stuff that comes in those blue totes. It's stuff like drug/gm stuff and general non-edible supplies that different departments use. I don't know about other departments, but as far as the deli/bakery goes, the Shelbyville order is things like deli meats and cheeses, potato salads and other similar items, icings, and fruit fillings.
Peyton is also called KMP. I think Peyton is a warehouse company in US. We call our other grocery delivery by its city name.
Peyton delivers grocery product along with GM. Nutrition single items also come in blue totes like GM.
There is also a Peyton supplies delivery from a different warehouse. They send a few blue totes, a few grocery items, supplies for store.
Shelbyville is usually delivered with the perishable truck. It has multiple departments on the perishable pallet. Meat, produce, seafood, refrigerated dog food and deli.
Peyton Warehouses are regional warehouses stocking slow moving grocery items (Shelf Stable), non-foods items and store supplies. You will hear people call Peyton Deliveries a few different things, Peyton Supply, Peyton Slow Movers..etc. Trucks with grocery orders are either called the warehouse they are coming from(Woodlawn) or Grocery Truck. Shelbyville is the regional perishable warehouse supplying produce, deli, meat, seafood, dairy and anything refrigerated, Blue Ash is now the Cincy/Dayton's more local perishable warehouse. Depending on the season and your type of store you will also receive shipments coming from Fred Meyer (Seasonal / Marketplace)

We only get Fred Meyer at Christmas, which is usually late October/early November. Delivers a lot of the electronics/appliances/oddball items for Drug/GM. At our store we just say Peyton truck or Grocery truck. A couple of people say KMP for the Peyton truck but my OCD won't let me call it that because not every Peyton item is a Kroger manufactured item.
It all depends on how many trucks you get a week. My previous stores we had like 21 trucks a week in some form, so you learned to call them different names. And bringing up X-Mas, how many other people thought the Non-Food Promo offering of stuff was kinda sucked this year?

So if I miss a poll time on Shelbyville order, they can open a new poll time for you but your items still aren't picked until the following order day. How can I contact them directly?

If you miss a poll time you might be out of luck, it all depends on when you call in and ask for help. Sometimes they can open the order back up and let you adjust it, other times its already been sent to the warehouse and or finalized.
