Also if someone is doing attendance and payroll they should be checking this. In the Columbus division we have 7 minutes until we are counted late. After that it will flag us as late.
At our store, it is very often that, for various reasons (such as someone has called in sick), last-minute schedule changes happen pretty often, and in those cases when I clock in and hear the "warning beep" that indicates I am not "supposed" to be clocking in at that time, we just have to make sure we write it in the communication log next to the timeclock, with info such as name, exact time, reason (clock in/out for shift/break, as schedule was changed" etc).
The payroll clerk goes through the paper logsheets each day and makes necessary changes in the computer record. I thought this was the typical procedure at most Kroger stores, but perhaps not.
They got rid of overrides and you either get somebody to change your time in Kronos or write it down on the time sheet. For those that dont know its called a schedule on purpose, coverage in certain departments is why they make schedules. We are in a customer service job so yes its about when our customers are there

Haha yes, someone should be there when our customers are. BUT. We should also be already stocked when our customers are there, otherwise they'll find half empty shelves. So scheduling a first person to come into the department ONE HOUR after we open... what is the purpose of that? That kind of scheduling is piece of crap.
There is so many legit reasons why a schedule is changed, so getting rid of overrides or giving people hard time when needing one is really stupid. Yes, ask why someone needs an override. If it's because they are constantly late coming to work, then sure, give him hard time. But if any other legit reason, then let him use the override.
We come to work to do the best job we can. Not letting us clock in is really dumb and demoralizing. Management knows that e-schedule is a joke, not letting you schedule people when you really need them. So either fix it or let us clock in when needed.
