Hola peeps,

Was curious if any other bakeries out there was going through this new six step plan Corporate or whomever has in regards to getting us certified for different things. I.E. beginning to put the date new products come in and expiration dates as well(in black marker and circling it), creating all these black tags on pretty much everything(in and out of the freezer mind you), and the next aspect will be color coding stuff on the sales floor, colored stickers on the new products as well, and even having color coded back stock tall boys as well(to which we don't even have enough tall boys for all of that). And who knows what is coming next after all the color coding stuff.

Dare I ask are they trying to see how many hoops that we can jump through before someone snaps or what? As it already took us 40 forevers, to even get the black tags, just right as they weren't specific enough the first time around. And now to learn that we have to change things all over again? Ugh, can only imagine what is coming next.

But why didn't they have any of this crap when they first started? I mean if they wanted it all that elaborate then should have started it from the get go. And weed out what wasn't working over time. As it is a major pain in the ass having to take time out of regular operations to do all this additional stuff.

We did the colored dots on our cap tags a while back ago. Next is duct taping the freezer to color code it. I actually have to work third shift to put duct tape on all the shelves. Its ridiculous.

I can believe it. My back up manager had to spend roughly 3 days doing the black tags, cause it wasn't specific enough, mins weren't listed, etc. And now this on top of a new floor set as well. It's really a trip.

I just find it a teensy bit ironic though that our previous back up manager had said he had to talk to us like we were little kids to get a point across about anything. And now it's the managers that are going to be treated similarly as well with this sort of set up of things.

Which is going to be a rather long while too as the pastry shelf said there is like 6 steps to all of this and have to clear each one. It's going to be one hell of a looooong time getting through this successfully. >_<
