Is it wrong to confirm with multiple managers about a rule?

One front end manager tells me, "okay, from now on you are no longer allowed to do such and such and such." Next day, I ask a different front end manager if he knows about this rule. He says he's never heard of that rule. Same with one of the store co-managers.

Maybe the first front end manager made up the rule to deal with the situation at that time.  Since the other two people you mentioned know nothing about the situation, they would know nothing about rhis new rule the other front end manager made up

I would not go around confirming with different managers. If you are in questions either ask your shop steward or store manager.

I just think it's kind of funny how the front end managers aren't all on the same page as far as most of these rules.

Like the other day I was told we can no longer put customer's bags and walkers and stuff behind the service desk. Which is what I told this one lady who wanted to put her bag there. Well, today I come back from my break, and this same lady comes around and tells me she wants her bag from behind the desk. I tell her, you bag can't be behind the desk because we're not allowed to put stuff back there. She tells me to go and look, because it's there. So I go and look and sure enough it's there.

Apparently a different front end manager, who has no idea about this rule, put it there for her. The lady tells me, we need to get our rules straight.
