I dont understand why just one division gets a raise, thats not fair at all. I work in the Delta Division and I found out that the biggest store in my division, the employees get paid more. Thats not fair because its not equal.
Your local union contracts your wages, so vote no on contracts that dont have a wage hike. Minimum wages vary by state and city. Larger stores have higher wages due to the sales they make, which is a part of the union contract. Transfer there if you want the higher wage.
I love it when a response like this is worded so flawessly and complete in detail that the OP has no remaining postition except to fall away in mute, impotent frustration.
You gotta be femaie. Only a chick delivers death blows like this. All that was missing was the prececeding 'First of all. . . . '
419? They are the flagship store and union dictates higher wages for premium positions based on store volume. More volume usually means harder, more difficult work. Also a lot of the stores in Delta are part of contracts other than 1529. Regular employees don't make more, just premium positions like leads, backups, etc.

In some circumstances, smaller stores that have a hard time retaining department heads and backups have the same pay rate as large stores.
For example, a produce department in a store that's located in the rough part of town that only does $30,000 a week may be paying their department head and backup the same rate as those who work in stores with a produce department that does $120,000+ a week.
