I posted for several different positions at various stores. 2 weeks ago one of my applications were moved to moved. 2 weeks later all my others were moved to self withdrew. What does that mean? I dont withdraw any of them
Oh, I think I remember this. Did you get called for an interview?
Because when I got called and had the phone interview, which then led to them scheduling me for the in-store interview, the same thing happened to me. Except it happened on the next day. The application for the store that I got the interview for went to moved. And the applications for the other stores were withdrawn.
Oh, well, for me, after the HR person gave me the interview. It was short. Just a "tell me about yourself." And then it was on to giving me the drug screening and scheduling me for my computer training and signing papers. I was basically hired.
Then again, this was a year ago and our store was brand new and desperate for people. They still are...
I interviewed with Frys last week and was offered the position contingent on background check. My background is good, so I was going to followup by phone today (midweek) when I noticed "self withdrew" on employment website. I know I did not withdraw myself, so not sure what that means. Manager will be in tomorrow so I will followup then. Just would be good to know.
By accepting the offer to be interviewed, the computer marks your other applications as self-withdrew assuming that youre getting the job at the store where you interviewed.
Call the HR person and ask. Or, go into the store and speak with a store manager about it. Show them that you want the job.
The original post is from 2018. They had a 3rd party accept applications online then and a person in the store do interviews. Now, I think a 3rd party still accepts the applications online but each district has one kroger person that does the interviews for 12 or more stores. The online status system seems to throw out random and misleading status updates.
The hiring process for the last 10+ years is a three ring circus in my opinion. They lead people on about or string them out for a simpleton job that some desperately need.
I was hired 15 years ago. I filled out an application in the store hiring kiosk, got an interview 2 days later and was working 2 days after that. Now, the hiring process seems to take a month plus to process.
The job is always a carnival atmosphere but the paychecks are steady if you can get the hours and handle the ride.
