I just started (was put into the system on June 21st) at my local Kroger as a cashier. After getting hired, I was informed by my parents about a family event that's happening on July 18th. I'm part-time, so I work anywhere between 12-28 hours a week. I'm available to work the rest of the week, but just not that one day.
Do you think my manager will have an issue with it since I was JUST hired? I'm still able to do my hours, I just can't work that ONE day.
Also, how do I request time off through website thingy? It wasn't explained to us
Give your schedule writer a written notice requesting the day off. Ask the person that hired you to help you ask for that day off. Keep in mind, it is only a request. I go out of my way to give newbies days off when they first get hired. Not sure how your schedule writer will process it.
Go to greatpeople.me . Using the log in and password in your Getting started handbook(should be inside front cover) ID should be your initials with 5 numbers. Click on MyEschedule(top center of page)--->My Eschedule portal--->My Time Off(top of page) Click on day on calendar. Select offNoPay.
Welcome to Kroger.
PS, this site is not affiliated with Kroger. So, I recommend you remove any identifying info from your account.

Just do a one day off request in esched. I do it all the time. I use to try schedule availability but one request should not penalize your hours. In well staffed departments it shouldn't be an issue.

Don't forget to check the box that says something along the lines of, "I understand that this just a request." If you don't, it won't allow you to submit the request. Also make sure you do it before Sunday, July 2nd. Otherwise, it won't allow it.
Alright, thank you. Also, my store does 1.5-2 weeks in advance for asking time off. I'll be able to put in for it until the 4th or 5th.
PS, There's also no identifying info on my account. I'm also well aware that this site isn't affiliated with Kroger. I suggest you should just stick to answering my question with no further suggestions.
Thanks.

Wow. Someone was only trying to be helpful. But, with your attitude, you should be promoted quickly into a Kroger managerial position.
