Trying to push me out?

I am currently a GOM for Kroger and have been for 7 months. They have brought in another GOM from another location and told me not to worry that the store was a two GOM store and it would be a great learning experience for me since this other GOM has over 20 years in the grocery business. I have this nagging feeling that the higher ups are trying to push me out since I stated four months ago that I couldn't do 3rd shift because I simply cant sleep during the day flash forward recently there was an offer to me to head up a backroom project that will be run 3rd shift at different locations and I will be in charge of training others on the handheld and 5s standards for a month and a half and was told this would be great learning experience and also look very good on me. I actually asked our store director if they were tying to push me out and he told me if I wanted to fire you I would.  Am I being paranoid or has anyone else dealt with higher ups pushing other management out? I am hourly and not salary, I have worked very hard to get to where I am and have made many sacrifices for the company. I treat my coworkers very well so I dont get it. confuse

Thanks for the reply. I ask this because of how I see things are being run and how they seem to push other workers out of the company by lowering hours and so on forcing them to quit.

They did this for a while with the journeyman cashiers pushing them to retire before a certain date or loose like $200 from your pension.  This was during the last contract negotiation.  They do this hour game all the time to make people quit.  If all of a sudden you're being treated like second class then they're trying to get you to quit.  You can file an ethics report but it just pisses off the person off more that's retaliating against you.  It's best to just transfer stores if you're being treated like second class by someone.
