Ok so what's the hack that everyone is using to keep their pick times down lol. They keep track of cancel/stops so how are people at my store having 25 second pick times? And I know their not that fast ;)
They do not follow SOPs (bagging during pick, checking dates, etc.). They probably out of stock a lot, too. Cgaedcke nay long pauses are tracked here. You can pause for a few seconds without it showing. A good way to figure out if that is what they are doing is to look at items per minute in relation to total time spent picking.
My average pick time for an 8 hour shift is 28 seconds, with about 7 pauses. You just really need to know your store, and the locations of all the products. Get your trolley, keep your eyes on your Baymax, and move! Also, if you have any questions about subs or oos, skip those until the end.
So when a random customer stops you to ask where something is, do you guys happily answer cause y'all know it by heart or do you get a bit annoyed cause the customer is messing up your times?
At my store I pretty much have to run to pickup everyone elses slack. My average pick time for 8 hours is 23 to 26 seconds with about 2 pauses. And that is having everything correctly bagged while picking as well. Have a lot of experience picking Know my store very well including alternate locations for items and can read very very fast. Ive picked as much as 812 items in 8 hours with my 30 minute break includEd. You can get very fast. Ive picked frozen trolleys at 17 seconds per item before. But I also have experience stocking in frozen as well. Its amazing what youre capable of.
Short staffed deal with it. Our store has 2-3 clicklist employees and that's it. Online orders are down because people are comfortable going back into stores. Put in your shift length time and leave. That's all you need but do.
