What becomes of Kroger? If socialism becomes the new way of life in the United States would that mean Kroger management gets replaced with government control of the means of production?
Will the Federal government let Kroger management stay put, and let Kroger management determine the means of production locally and who becomes forced to work, etc.? Will unions be overthrown with the change of Federal government into a Venezuela model-like system?
The answer to that question should dictate on how you should vote.
Which is the lesser of two evils for Kroger employees in 2020?
Personally, I think Marianne Williamson is hot, but there's no way I can vote Democrat...in the foreseeable future.
You are kidding yourself and in denial if you think Trump cares about you though. He cares about himself and his money. Trump is all about removing any kind of regulations on businesses, even safety stuff. He is totally ok with harmful business practices that screw over workers. Even if you want a conservative, there are way better options than him out there. He acts like a baby every day.
My prediction if Sanders, Yang, or Warren win AND we have a Democratic Congress (if we have a split government get ready for 4 more years of literally nothing like 2012-2016)...
Unions will be somewhat stronger (repeal of anti-union laws like the terribly-named "Right to Work" that force unions to cover non-union members). Probably more strikes & calls to strike, which could result in better contracts with significant wage and benefit increases, but Kroger will definitely ramp up efforts to automate as much as possible. Whether that works out or not...who knows, just look at the dismal state of PickUp & SBG.
Amazon and Walmart will probably be harder hit by a Democratic administration focusing on anti-trust issues, which might actually be good for Kroger.

You're a fear mongering idiot. None of the candidates are proposing that.
Also, Marianne Williamson is a wack job who spouts incoherent nonsense.
Kroger backed Trump from the start. Saw it as an opportunity. Wishing the government did not let Kroger (a North Korea style mini dictatorship) get away with so much. Just vote and try not to worry. President Warren could not snap her fingers and make single payer a thing without the consent of Congress. It would take more than 8 years to make something like that happen.
The President can not do most of the things they promise in their campaigns. They dont have the powers to do most of those things without Congress, so you dont need to be that scared, I doubt a democratic president will have much of any effect on Kroger if one of the candidates ends up winning, and to me it looks like Trump might get a second term anyway(note I am not a Trump supporter at all)
I'm not a Democrat or a Republican but if anyone thinks that if any democratic candidate wins (Bernie included) that we're all of a sudden going to turn into 1960's Communist Russia, then they're just a little delusional.
Why is it that people think if anyone slightly left of center gets elected we will immediately become a communist dystopia? That has never happened in our entire existence as a country. None of these candidates are communists. People need to calm down.
Kroger employees (rightfully) complain when Kroger raises health insurance deductions from paychecks while removing benefits/coverage. A single payer system like in Canada/the U.K. will provide better coverage at less cost. YES, you WILL pay more in taxes - because the money has to come from somewhere, BUT you will never have to worry about insurance premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments, etc... AND you won't lose your coverage if you quit Kroger or go bankrupt trying to pay medical bills.
Trump promised health care reform and had a Republican congress up until the 2018 midterms. They did NOTHING but gut the ACA (a not so good policy to begin with) and people lost health insurance because of them. It's past time for them to go.
Also, Kroger employees (rightfully) complain of low wages/struggling to work a second job and make it fit with their Kroger work schedule all the while getting ten/twenty cent raises every six months. A living wage which will replace the minimum wage, thus bringing wages more in line with where they would be today had they kept up with cost of living/inflation increases over the years. Will this cost SOME jobs? Knowing Kroger, yes... but the alternative is more and more people join the growing number of individuals living in poverty/just getting by paycheck to paycheck and more people turning to the social safety net for benefits to make ends meet. Some studies show NO increase in unemployment in cities that increase the minimum wage to a wage more in line with what's considered a living one. People get paid better in other countries and guess what they can still afford stuff like Big Macs at McDonald's so paying employees a living wage DOES NOT send prices of goods through the roof. There's an adjustment period. It won't be a very easy one but if other developed, civilized countries can do it so can we.
So while working at Kroger won't necessarily get better, the pay at least will as will the health insurance (which will no longer be tied to your employer).
It should be noted though that most of the Dems running (which lol @ them being "socialist" when they are center-right corporate capitalists) won't push for any of the above. Basically, just Bernie Sanders will.

More government means worse services at higher costs. Its been proven all throughout history.
Bernie Sanders and his three houses is a joke and a communist. He was an elector for them years ago.
The government setting wages raises prices and weakens the dollar.
Not much of a Trump fan, but right now hes better than any of the Dems.

"Proven"? Wrong. Data shows the U.S. not only spends MORE money on healthcare but also receives inferior service. The U.S. consistently ranks WELL BELOW countries that have a single-payer or hybrid system. There's a reason MEDICARE (run by the government) is so popular.
Bernie Sanders is not a communist. Wrong again. Read up on the definition of communism. Bernie himself incorrectly labels himself as a "Democratic Socialist". Nope. He's a social democrat - a believe in social democracy, which is a hybrid system of capitalism & socialism, which we already have to an extent, but not an effective one.
The dollar has been weakening under Trump and he wants to weaken it even more, so maybe just maybe Trump is person you should have an issue with. Also the government already has a minimum wage law so it already plays a role - but an ineffective one.
Some of the Dems running do suck and it's time to end the era of neo-liberalism that Obama championed, but Trump has failed to put America First (so much for getting us out of all these wasteful wars, so much for covering every American with health insurance, so much for investing in the country's infrastructure and rebuilding America).
He was the presidential elector for a Trotsky candidate in 1980. Look it up, that is public information. Sanders is a communist.
The reason we spend so much on health care is a combination of government interference, and our health technology is better. Look at how long these other countries have to wait for care. Canadians love to come over here for care because they dont have to wait months on end. We also dont have government caps on salaries for doctors and nurses, so only the best come here. If you think Kroger is bad at running something, multiply it by 100 and you have the government. You can also kiss your freedom goodbye.
I want out of these wars too, and yes, Trump has failed on that. Thing is, none of the Democrats will do it either.
And that's more important than the policies that he has publicly proposed and his votes as a senator? I don't know about you, but there's never going to be a candidate that I agree with 100% of the time.
The reason we spend so much on healthcare is because of the insane profit margins the insurance companies make. Procedures here in America tend to cost A LOT more than in Canada or the U.K. as a result.
Long wait times in other countries do not exist for life threatening health issues. Extreme wait times, rationing care and whatnot are myths spread by the right. That doesn't mean Canada or the U.K. have perfect healthcare systems and that doesn't mean they can't be improved, but compared to what we have where health insurance companies that you PAY a premium to like clockwork can then DENY your claim or refuse to cover a procedure, to say our healthcare system is somehow superior to what people enjoy in other countries that RANK HIGHER than we do in satisfaction/cost is just not accurate. Or perhaps should say if you're wealthy enough and can afford only the best doctors and hospitals, then ok, you can probably make a case for why the system is fine the way it is, but when the NUMBER ONE reason for bankruptcy in America is because of medical bills and you have millions uninsured because they can't afford health insurance, then the system is undeniably BROKEN.
Also, under a single-payer system you can see any doctor at any hospital anywhere in America - so no more worries about being "out of network" when it comes to healthcare; that's more freedom, not less.
Apparently you love government running your life. You actually believe they can run healthcare, when they cant even run a cafeteria. Look at their projected costs on anything and how it always ends up costing much much more.
Many areas of Canada have shortages of health care workers because the pay is so pathetic. Go to a US hospital near the Canadian border and count all of the provincial license plates. Some are patients and others are doctors and nurses. Clearly that tells you the Canadian System is a mess.
How do you feel about Krogrr running/ruining your life? This 800 lb. gorilla of an unaccountable corporation needs a 900 lb. one (working for us) to keep it in check.

You are a lost and scared person if you vote party lines like this.
You are a idiot if you think socialism is some boogeyman gonna get ya.
Finally, your a hypocrite for using American socialist programs while at the same time ****ting on the systems that propped you up. (I'd be happy to detail some if you wanna get all indigent on being retard, it goes all the way to you having to stop eating, cause socialist programs pay farmers to grow food).
Don't touch our SOCIAList SECURITY, I'd like it to still be there before you "people" rob it blind while bitching about it existing.

These are the step-by-steps taken to get full-fledge socialism.

They want to get me now...from their unfiltered political comments. What would be the rationale for believing, by giving in on step 1, they would stop there? One of the early steps is to take away our guns.

Social security encourages people to work and provides a safety net. I never complained about it existing. That's not socialism. Unemployment benefits are not socialism either.
P.S. I'm not a fan of fat middle-age women, LBGT, and liberals. Liberals need me more than I need them. Liberals need conservatives to mooch off of.

Medicare is run by the government. Social Security is run by the government. These are immensely popular federal programs that work well (although not perfectly, as few things in life are). The projected cost of Medicare For All is LOWER than the projected cost of maintaining the status quo in the years to come: https://medicareworld.com/financial/medicare-for-all-study-save-trillions/
Canada's healthcare system is a mess? Yet... Canada (and other countries with single-payer) BEATS the U.S. when the two countries' healthcare systems are compared?
http://thepatientfactor.com/canadian-health-care-information/world-health-organizations-ranking-of-the-worlds-health-systems/ (Canada 30, USA 37)
https://ceoworld.biz/2018/02/14/the-top-25-countries-with-the-best-healthcare-systems-the-world-in-2017/ (Canada 24, USA not EVEN in the top 25)
Actually, I'll stop there, because even though Canada's healthcare system is superior to ours, other countries with single payer do it better, so instead of modeling ours after Canada's, let's maybe look to France, Italy, Denmark, Japan or the UK, all of which consistently rank better than the U.S. does as far as healthcare goes.
Just remember: our for-profit health insurance industry is just that: it's for-profit. The industry makes money by DENYING your claims and telling you you DON'T need a procedure even when your doctor says you DO. You can be paying for what you THINK is comprehensive coverage only for an insurance company to turn around and say, "sorry! We don't cover that kind of procedure!" so I don't get why so many people want to defend a broken, corrupt system that allows tens of thousands to DIE every year due to a lack of coverage and a system where you have at minimum 20 million uninsured when other countries have PROVEN that a better system exists.

The guy above me shut you up for me. So I don't need to. I just want to know wtf your talking about guns for now? I'm a moderate, I own guns, I own guns through private sale. No one could. Possible take guns away. **** mine are registered to some asshat 4 states away and were sold privately to three other people before me. How can you possible know I have these guns?
No one is taking your guns, your a scared old child spewing grandpa's talking points cause you never had to evolve as a person or actually think.
Also. Socialist/socialistesque programs(not private corporations) or services you have or will use run by the government.
Roads
Schools
Medicare
Social security
Water
Fire fighters
Cops
Military
The VA
Food (subsidized through government handouts to corporations or factory farms).
Bridges
There is no point is trying to teach someone unwilling to learn.
Do the world a favor and choke on a bullet. I'm willing to subsidize it for you.
There is literally not a single socialist candidate running for the Democratic party. Even if Sanders calls himself a "democratic socialist," he's actually a social democrat. Demsocs want to dismantle the capitalist system and bring about worker ownership of the means of production through a democratic process, while socdems like Sanders advocate for strong nationalized social safety nets and reform that keeps the capitalist system in place.
A lot of actual socialists and communists (not just the "marxist-leninists"/stalinists/tankies) refuse to even pragmatically participate in electoral politics.
If you're gonna whine about left-wing politics, paying attention to the actual groupings on the left and the differences between them is a good idea. Otherwise you look like a complete moron.
