My store manager and Admin Assistant said they haven't heard from our union rep in over two weeks. My store manager said that the union rep isn't returning anyone's calls and the last two email I sent haven't been returned. Are the Union reps just sitting until everything shakes out? My store manager suggested for me to contact our Union rep's boss-and said he didn't have an issue with me doing this!
Complain to the union regarding your lazy union rep. A union rep who isn't active or not even a half as.sed job should not be. I've gotten incompetent lazy union reps removed from their post before because I had an issue going on like you and they realized they were not doing their job. Union requested them to step down. When your rep isn't active and standing up for your worker rights they should not be.
It took a week just to get the union to pick up the goddamn phone.
Rather than purposefully sitting the firing event out, they are probably just sitting around.
The other part is that management is non-union so the union couldn't care less. And that means a lot, considering how much they care for actual dues-paying union members.
