That is why at my store, management usually "adds on" extra hours than the allotted ones to make sure we improve our safety protocol at the store. Corporate has gotten mad, but when we say "safety is ABOVE ANY and ALL daily tasks in the store"
Corporate hears: "Agdhrjdjrje848ehebsjgrj."

Without proper safety, none of the necessary tasks would be done. INCLCLUDING the RIDICOULOUS Corporate assigned ones.

The safety program at my store does not exist. Only the gal that is in charge of compliance has sign off sheets. So once a month in our dept meetings she has us sign here and sign here and sign here and not time to read or discuss what the hell we are signing.

Correct!   When we have an actual safety issue in our department, like a very sharp edge, or something that needs to be repaired, if I say anything about it to the Lead or a Co-manager, its almost like they are saying "I can't understand you........what language are you speaking?? "  or " [With a Blank look]  oh, ok.....  "

Well yes, but actually no.

The safety program consists solely of hassling employees to sign endless forms in hopes of catching them in a "Gotcha!" and fraudulently filling out those postcard-sized STAR things.  Every single STAR card is faked.  Every single one.

Any actual safety issues are completely ignored until customers are involved.

If you work in this dump for a couple of years you will be required to sign off hundreds of times on training that never happened.  We have to sign useless paper claiming there was a safety lecture given by someone all the time.  It is about liability, or getting out of liability without actually taking care of things properly.
