To the courtesy clerk at work who was bagging my customers groceries on Tuesday:
I understand that you do not like the fact that the beginning till for every register has limited funds and that every cashier needs to have more than enough money in the till for cash back requests from customers up to $100.00 at the beginning of their shift, but neither one of us has any control over how much money is in our beginning till.
And you want the store manager to do something about that? I am not sure that the store manager can do anything about that.
And your taking your frustrations out on me in front of my customers when I ask you to get change for a $100.00 bill is not acceptable. Yes, I know that guest care closes at 8 p.m., and that I am asking you to get change for a $100.00 bill when it is almost 8 p.m. But, I have no control over when my customers ask for cash back nor do I have any control over the fact that a customer gave me a $100.00 for a small grocery order after a customer asked for $60.00 cash back, and I have her the last $20.00 bills I had.
Then you lecture me in front of my customers telling me "Now, yankeedog, you know that guest care closes at 8 p.m. every day. You need to look at the time on your monitor before asking me to get change for you. I am not sure that guest care can give me change for that big bill. And you are wanting me to get change now?" He was able to get change from another co-worker of mine
A customer of mine told me you were in a poor mood last night after witnessing your behavior at the front-end, and he told me that you should not be dealing with customers.
I would report it to your supervisor. Even if guest care was closed, they still have to do things like provide change so checkers can do their jobs. The courtesy clerk does have a poor attitude. The courtesy clerk in the other post who complained about the customer who had a big order also has a bad attitude. It's not asking too much to have your groceries bagged neatly or in a particular way. My gosh people, that's your job. If you can't do that, then you should find other employment.

How do you deal with co-workers like this?
dont be a pussy. Next time they try to lecture you tell them hey you better watch who you talking like that too. if they are making you look or feel stupid then do it right back to them. I sure as hell have.
I would have said with a sickly sweet smile and a condescending patronizing voice, "I'm sorry, what is your position again? Courtesy Clerk? Then with that said, I asked that you get change for a customer. Here....let me no-show you how it's done. *re-shows how to do to a now angry and humiliated courtesy clerk* there now. All done."
And when the customer leaves and lines are down, I would have said in a serious voice. "Next time you speak to me in a condescending/patronizing voice like that again, I'll be speaking to management. And then you will have a legitimate reason to be angry. You are a Courtesy Clerk. Meaning you do what is needed for the customer that can be done if able. And yes, sometimes that may mean, "Traveling all over the world and beyond."
Btw is he special needs? If he is it might be more difficult to pursue the matter.

I'd tell him to chill out and I'd tell you to quit writing 3 pages articles shaming someone cause you feel slighted.
Everyone must be treated equally. I've worked at several stores and each till has the same amount of money in it period. Due to the fact they are intentionally limiting the money in "your" till is discrimination. I would got to the Kroger Ethics Board website (just google it) and file a discrimination complaint. You can file anonymously to keep the tension down. I've done it a lot because I got tired of getting verbally reprimanded over bull sh-it that could have been handled with simple communication and training.

Sounds like youre in the fault here. Maybe step back and think about what you did wrong and rectify the problem. Apologize to them is a good start!

Then why are you at Kroger. Getting verbally reprimanded for no reason is your job. You are a ego boost to management. Now you are willing to sellout a coworker.

You're a bad a person who won't realize it.
