ASM Job Title changes in Express HR
Permalink

So... I was looking in Express HR at some of my information and noticed that the job title is different.

Previously, ASMs were listed as either ASST STORE LEADER HR, ASST STORE LEADER MERCH, or ASST STORE LEADER OPS.

Now, ASMs are either listed as ASST STORE LEADER TM or ASST STORE LEADER HM.

Im not sure if this is enterprise wide or just my division. Can anyone tell me what HM or TM means?

Not sure about TM/HM - but I do know in our district ASM's are basically doing w/e needs to be done. Descriptive roles (like ops asm, merch, Hr) are gone. It's kind of up to the SM now to delegate what they want them to do. (Nashville)

Someone noted the TM, HM indicates who has access to diffing HR programs. TM = Time Management (KRONOS), HM = Hiring Management (Can complete Hiring process).

It's to comply with a federal hiring law. Plus you can argue that it prepares ASM's for store management roles without having to be an 'x' ASM for 'y' amount of time. I know a very good ASM that got passed over a few times for store management jobs because he never had an opportunity to be an Ops manager. Also more cuts next year, some stores might be going to 1-2 ASM's max.

I would assume, the Overnight ASM will be eliminated. Its funny how the company is going back to how it was run years ago. Remember back in the day when Department Leaders actually ran their Departments/Store and Store Management was there to support and guide. But then again, the company hasn't actually cared about a Department Leader training program for years and all the senior Department Leader has basically stepped down due to BS As most District Managers previously said, the Department Leaders run the store and MGMT comes and goes. Well, all your experienced Department Leaders have become basic clerks and the experience is gone.
