Kroger as a company

Be honest how is Kroger as a Company? I hear they are not doing any remodels or building stores while Publix is expanding to other states. Doers this mean kroger is at a stand still? Is the company really doing as good as they say? At one time Kroger was buying up small companies. At one time I thought they wanted to buy Ingles Markets.  But companies like Publix seem to be the small town down home service no self checkout or online orders.

On the decline. Neglected grocery 101 for to long (competitive wages, staffed stores, good management, clean stores, stocked shelves, friendly ppl) - I guess the ppl at the top will just suck it dry for all the cash they can get while it crumbles and then move on.

Kroger is a public company so they answer to Wall Street. If Kroger tells Wall Street that they will hit certain numbers, Kroger needs to or the price drops. Kroger will stop spending, fire people, force out crap to stores so they sell etc to hit those numbers. Publix is a private company, so they dont have to answer to Wall Street. They can close at 9pm, close on holidays etc for that reason. But..... its scary when a company is private. Who knows how they are really doing?

Let's see...Top supermarket chain in the U.S.? Check!

443,000 employees as of last year? Check! Check!

2,700 grocery stores spread over 35 states? Check! Check! Check!

And the third largest employer in the country behind Walmart and Amazon...and probably the best to work for out of the three!

The rest of the Top 10 includes Yum! Brands, Home Depot, IBM, McDonald's, Berkshire Hathaway, FedEx and UPS...

Facts, people...Facts...

Yeah, Kroger has never been perfect, but in all honesty, NO company is and they all have their issues!

Really, what more do you want??? hmm

Kmart, Sears, and a host of other Titanics. Being large doesnt mean you cant fail and that your not on the decline. Rodney keeps over promising to share holders and squeezing stores for every cent to try and make up for it. Thats not sustainable. My guess within the next year Kroger will be closing more and more stores. I bet a few of those will be in Nashville.

You must be in HR because thats the kind of deceptive sales pitch they use to find suckers. Go read up on the actual experiences of ppl who work (currently or have worked in the past)for Kroger at Glassdoor and other sites (reddit) to get a better balance. HR hiring ppl only focus on the frosting not the turd its covering.

Why would i386 be obsessed with a company he no longer works for? Its so obvious hes still there. I should drop a jar of pasta sauce so he can clean it up.

I am not obsessed it's just that I worked there 25 years.  Go ahead and drop the jar of pasta. Bust 4 or 5 gallons of milk while you are at it. Heck why not shake a 2 liter throw it up and hope it lands on the top and see what happens.

Yeah this racist pig is lying. we both work at the same store. His idea of leaving is getting suspended for 3 days cause he was driving the electric cart around and crashed into the glass doors thus cracking one. He only got off light cause hes a special needs case

???

Kroger is terrible as a company.

The stock price is in the toilet, stores are ran by skeleton crews (and it shows), everyone is miserable, thousands of managers have been fired, round 2 of firings is rumored to be around the corner, Kroger is years behind technologically, and cheatsheet.com says that Kroger is the worst company to work for in America.

What a handsome fellow!

I just kind of want to give him a 20% raise and shower him with untold millions of dollars, no matter how much Kroger tanks.  Weird, right?
