Just curious if every store does one and what you got fed this year. I know every store gets a set amount they can spend (it isn't a lot). We had a taco bar and every shift got food (even night crew who normally gets squat).

Before our department head was a department head she used to be a really nice and awesome person. Every year she would organize a party just for our department with a ton of food and stuff. Sadly once she was promoted she became a terrible, nasty person. But those first few years were fun.

We had one with BBQ sandwiches and chips. It was good but we were limited to one and it only went for two hours. Basically, if you were at work during that time you got fed. If you were working any other shift you didn't.

We were going to have one but at the last minute Kroger backed out. Soooo with that said, the department heads are pulling some good stuff from their depts tomorrow and scanning it on 'trainer mode'. It will still be on Kroger. You cant just "back out" on what was promised.

Or better yet, we can "dummy up" an order and say the customer never came in to pick up or pay for their custom order. That might be a better way to go. That way we won't get caught on trainer mode for getting items we were promised but kroger backed out on.

I asked and this is what I was told about the parties. Kroger gives each store a budget for two celebrations a year. Some get two hundred, some get three hundred for each party. So, that would be 400 or 600 a year SM's can use. Marketplaces might get more, I don't know. It used to be more. Some stores do two a year but they can be done anytime. Ours did Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some do one of those in the summer. As I was told, it wouldn't be Kroger backing out of paying it would be the SM or district managers or divisional people telling them not to use the money. It's for each fiscal year.

Maybe they're taking their cues from that middle school principal in Iowa who took away the pizzas from the students' end of the year party.

Way to go! disbelief! Let's steal!!  I see  some HUGE FLAWS in your design.

1. The company, for whatever reason, decides to back out of your party. (That is ENTIRELY THEIR decision to make. NOT YOURS in ANY way WHATSOEVER).

2. If Mr. FAKE-O  customer puts in a very large order in each dept, needed on the day of your cancelled party, that's going to raise red flags because

A) usually a deposit is required. Why was a deposit not collected? And if it was where is the reciept? And the collected deposit?

B) where is Mr. FAKE-O'S contact info?

C) It is REALLY ODD  that Mr. Fake-o ordered this huge amount of food to be ready by your cancelled party date. Hmmm...

Oh would you look at that! The "customer" never showed up to get his orders.

And somehow decorations,  table covers, plastic utensils, paper plates etc somehow got "damaged."

Well once management finds out, all involved, WILL have PLENTY of time for future parties. They may have a bit of a hard time paying for them though if you get what I'm saying. Plus with being suspended indefinately, unemployment WILL be IMPOSSIBLE.

We used to get giant spreads for every holiday and pizza constantly. This year we got no food for Thanksgiving, no food for Christmas (under two different managers), no free pie like we used to, no extra percentage on our discount, no card of any kind. Michigan division.

Our store was supposed to have a Christmas dinner one day. The main course would be  provided by the deli and everyone would bring a side dish or dessert. No one hardly gave a crud about it.

DIY only.  No one feels safe here so no one hangs around.  Sometimes there are big amounts of food left in the break room but that can happen anytime, like if we meet an important goal no one ever heard of outside of corporate memos.
