Too much .... Drug GM !!!

Okay, at my store currently it is me and the GM manager working DrugGM. The store I work at is small, located in Nashville Area. First, I changed departments from Front End to GM, but I didnt get raise which was odd (working 3 years+). Then, when I moved to GM it was stuff everywhere (expired, backstock, not worked). Now, it has gotten worser because its load coming in everyday and half of the stuff we already have on the backstock cart (I do not do the ordering)! I dont have time to clean out our GM room of all the junk and its annoying at this point. I dont take breaks or lunchs because I cannot just let things go too bad. My manager does nothing all day but runs her mouth with the customers. I can condition an entire aisle the next day it will be all messed up due to people stealing things and just knocking everything over to hide the evidence. I asked management for help but everyone they hire is either too young or too slow. Any Suggestions?!

I feel for you - sadly there isnt a lot of teamwork in Nashville - everyone is looking out for themselves and justice isnt on the top of anyones lists unless its for themselves.. - just whos butt do I need to kiss to keep my job . I was a SM in D1 so I know how things work. You could complain to the union steward.. but complaining is always risky and you could find yourself targeted. Honestly the leadership structure here is broken and the DM in D1 is a big part of the problem..that filters down to SM. And he lets some of them get away with everything and others are targeted for the slightest thing..  If your likes by leadership above your SM you might can get them to talk to her.. but if your not liked id tough it out until I found a better job and then call them all out on their bull crap.

I think I know which store this is in Nashville: her, GM room and smaller store. :) That narrows it down a lot. It could only be one of 2 stores..

Plus, the new asm is ******* out to get me. He snatched a handheld from me when I first transferred to GM (I didnt have a login for the handheld). It took two months for me to get into a handheld login and the only thing had to be done was a freaking password reset. The other day in our huddle I asked for a EcoLab checklist, he didnt give it to me but gave it to two others. Then he went and said to the huddle thank the Drug GM lead because our gift card sales increase within the store this year more than any other year. Im the one who put out the gift cards around the registers, aisles, and on displays for Christmas this year *******. When I say Im mfking tired of being nice to people at this store.

Sounds like your being targeted for some superficial reason and this is why Kroger is doing so poorly in Nashville and can't hire or keep anyone. This kind of trivial, insecure power tripping and superficial petty discrimination from some SM and the DM. Most of Kroger's ASM's here are college kids with a degree and don't know jack about retail or grocery.

Drug Gm sucks. When you get behind its impossible to catch up. You get seasonal items and shippers coming in once a week on top of the daily tasks and the majority of backstock is dead stock.

I was in that position. Is cao being used correctly? What you need to is sort all the backstock by aisle. Markdown all the junk and dead stock while the other person works backstock. Make sure Cao is correct so the items quit coming in. Do a cart a day 100%. Work
It scan it, fix it and markdown if you have a lot of it. If you stay on it. Youll eventually see the light.

I wouldve never known Drug GM wasnt on EcoLab unless someone told me. None of our New Years items sold now its 600+ additional items to markdown to all the other **** that shouldve been markdown before I came to the department. I wish I wouldve just listened to a former employee that quit because it is too much.

Start looking elsewhere - there is zero level of job security at Kroger no matter how good you are unless you know the right ppl and they like you. Its run by vindictive ppl tripping on power in the D1 Nashville area. Various leadership here has ruined the employee experience along with the reputation of the district so its virtually impossible to staff the stores and the Skeleton crews are all over worked and the ones that can find better are doing so.
